Sometimes we can feel lost, down and anxious and experience feelings of low self-esteem without knowing why. Counselling and psychotherapy sessions can be a time to reflect and explore who we are and if we want to change our patterns of behaviour.
I have supported individuals for many different reasons, including identity, sexual orientation, phobias and anxiety, as well as infertility, work issues, depression, bereavement, anger and relationship difficulties.
'We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?'
('Our Deepest Fear', by Marianne Williamson)
Who are you? Who am I? Sometimes we can place little value on ourselves and who we are. We can become lost as we try to fit into society’s expectations, values and norms. I can walk alongside you and offer an explorative space for you to rediscover your true relationship with yourself and find your inner voice.
'And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same'.
('Long Walk to Freedom', Nelson Mandela)
The social restraints and prejudices that we can sometimes experience as we navigate ourselves in this world, can feel exhausting, frightening and sad and can stop us from being who we are or who we want to be. I can offer you space and time for you to explore your sexuality and the spectrum of feelings you may experience as you navigate learning to love yourself and be who you want to be.
'The only thing we have to fear is fear itself'
(Franklin D Roosevelt 1933)
Phobias can be limiting and can restrict us from our life’s potential. I can provide a space for you to try to understand your phobia and move from fearful avoidance towards tolerance and emotional freedom.
'The greatest weapon against stress is our ability to choose one thought over another.'
(William James)
When we feel anxious, worried and overwhelmed we can sometimes feel like we are drowning, without any support to keep our head above water. I can be alongside you to help you try to relocate your foundation and find a place to rest, as you search for a safe pocket of air to carry on and face the day.
